Argentina will be without Atlético Madrid’s Julián Álvarez, Nahuel Molina and Giuliano Simeone for Friday’s friendly in Luanda after the players failed to complete the yellow fever vaccine requirements in time, the Argentine Football Association (AFA) confirmed. The vaccine is compulsory for travellers entering Angola due to regional health regulations.

In a statement, the AFA said the trio “did not complete in time the health procedures related to the yellow fever vaccine,” leading to their withdrawal from this international window’s only fixture. Argentina, already qualified for the 2026 World Cup, will proceed with the match as planned.

Reports in Spain and Argentina echoed the federation’s explanation, stressing there were no disciplinary issues involved, only entry-protocol compliance. Local coverage also noted separate injury absences elsewhere in the squad.
The fixture against Angola in Luanda is scheduled for Friday, 14 November 2025. The top-ranked world champions will use the friendly to maintain rhythm ahead of next year’s tournament in the United States, Mexico and Canada
