Spain and Manchester City midfielder Rodri has cemented his place among football’s all-time greats after completing one of the sport’s rarest trophy collections.
Following Spain’s FIFA World Cup triumph, Rodri has now won the four major honours that define some of football’s greatest careers: the UEFA Champions League, the FIFA World Cup, the UEFA European Championship and the Ballon d’Or.
According to the achievement highlighted by football journalist Fabrizio Romano, only seven players in history have completed this remarkable set of honours. Rodri joins an elite list featuring Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Müller, Zinedine Zidane, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho and Lionel Messi.
Rodri’s career has been marked by consistency and success at both club and international level. He played a pivotal role in Manchester City’s Champions League triumph and has become one of the world’s most influential midfielders. His performances also helped Spain secure European Championship glory before he was recognised with the Ballon d’Or as the world’s best player.
With the addition of a World Cup winners’ medal, Rodri has now entered one of football’s most exclusive groups, further strengthening his legacy as one of the defining midfielders of his generation.
