PSV Eindhoven have secured the services of ex-Arsenal forward Lucas Perez until the season’s conclusion, as announced by the Dutch team on Sunday. This development comes just over a week before they are set to face the London club in the opening match of their Champions League round of 16 encounter.
The 36-year-old has joined PSV on a free transfer after parting ways with his local team, Deportivo La Coruna, last month.
Perez originally moved to Arsenal in 2016 from Deportivo for an estimated fee of 20 million euros (£18.7 million), but he struggled to make a significant impact in the Premier League. He subsequently returned to Deportivo on loan the following year and later transferred to West Ham United in 2018.
“I’m immensely motivated to aid this club in reaching its other objectives, such as securing the national championship and cup,” Perez expressed in a statement. “I’ve been diligently preparing over the past weeks, both on the field and off. I’m fully prepared to demonstrate my capabilities here.”
