Barcelona have reached an agreement to acquire the services of Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig.
This development comes as Nico Williams has indicated his intention to stay with Athletic Club, confirming his loyalty to the team through social media channels.
Williams, aged 22, has recently returned to pre-season training with Athletic Club and conveyed his enthusiasm for the upcoming season in a social media post: “I have returned! I am eagerly anticipating this season. Let’s go, Athletic!”
With Williams appearing likely to continue with Athletic Club, Barcelona has now turned its attention to Olmo, who played a crucial role in Spain’s victorious Euro 2024 campaign.
The 26-year-old netted three goals and contributed two assists, aiding Spain in securing their fourth European Championship.
His exceptional performances have garnered interest from several prominent clubs, including Manchester City, Chelsea, and Arsenal.
Dani Olmo, who departed from Barcelona to join Dinamo Zagreb in 2014, is poised to make a comeback to the prestigious Catalan club.
Despite facing injuries that restricted his participation to only 17 matches in the previous season at RB Leipzig, Olmo displayed his resilience by netting four goals and contributing with five assists.
