Atletico Madrid has reached an agreement to acquire the services of Julian Alvarez, an Argentine forward, from Manchester City for a staggering £82 million.
This transfer deal represents a substantial profit for the Premier League champions, who initially purchased the talented Argentina forward from River Plate for £14 million in January 2022.
While personal terms still need to be finalized, it is anticipated that this will not pose a significant obstacle.
Since his arrival at the Etihad Stadium two and a half years ago, Alvarez has made 103 appearances for City, finding the back of the net on 36 occasions.
The Argentine international boasts an impressive list of achievements during his tenure with City. In 2023 alone, he clinched two Premier League titles, as well as triumphs in the FA Cup, Champions League, Super Cup, and Club World Cup.
Furthermore, Alvarez was part of the victorious Argentine national team that won the 2022 World Cup and secured victory in the Copa America earlier this year.
