Milan fans made Zlatan Ibrahimovic cry before the match of the last round of Serie A against Verona, and he made his fans cry after the match.
Before the match, it was announced that the celebrated 41-year-old Ibrahimović will leave the Rossoneri after his contract expires in June. This season he was plagued by injuries, he played only four games and scored one goal.
He didn’t even play last night due to an injury, so he didn’t have a chance to say goodbye to the Milan fans in his jersey on the field.
Rossoneri fans made Ibra cry before the start of the match with a short message from the stands that read ‘God bye’ which means ‘Hello God’ instead of the standard ‘Goodbye’ or ‘Goodbye’.

The whole stadium chanted for Ibrahumović, after which Zlatan could not hide his tears. The Italian media announced in the previous days that he could play for Monza next year, however, he said after the match that his career had come to an end.
“So many memories and emotions in this stadium. The first time I arrived he gave me happiness, the second time he gave me love. I want to thank my family and those close to me for their patience. Thanks to the other family, players, coach and professional staff for the responsibility they gave me. Thank you to the directors for the opportunity,’ said Zlatan, and then added:
“Last but not least, I want to thank you, the fans, from the bottom of my heart. You welcomed me with open arms and I will be a Milanista all my life. It’s time to say goodbye to football, but not to you. It’s hard for me, I’ll see you if I’m lucky. Forca Milano and goodbye.’
Ibrahimović returned to Milan in January 2020. In total, he scored 93 goals in 163 matches and won two Serie A titles with the Rossoneri. The first was in 2010/11 and the second in 2021/22.
