GUARDIOLA IN HIS STYLE: If he did it at the age of 22, he would be bored in the future

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola commented in his own style on the dominant game of striker Erling Haaland, who scored five goals in a 7:0 win over Leipzig.

The young Norwegian “blamed” the manager for the substitution half an hour before the end of the match because he thinks he could have scored another goal. “Erling is very young, the best I could do was deny him the chance to score six goals.” If he had done it at 22, he would have been bored in the future.

He is a great player and that is something that everyone can see. He is always focused on the game,” said Guardiola. Many connected Haaland’s case with the fact that the Spaniard greatly appreciates Lionel Messi, under whose leadership the Argentine scored five goals against Bayer Leverkusen in the 2011/2012 season.

“I know Messi scored five goals, but Haaland did it in 60 minutes, which is not the case with Leo,” said Guardiola.
