Guardiola: If Michel gets a call from Bayern, I'll personally drive him to Munich

Following Girona’s excellent results this season, their coach Michel has attracted the attention of major clubs. Although he received offers from Lyon and Newcastle, it seems he won’t leave the club unless a serious offer comes in.

Pere Guardiola, President of Girona’s Board of Directors, gives him the green light to leave whenever he wishes: “I assure you that if he receives a call from Bayern while under contract with Girona, I will personally drive him to Munich, and the club president (Delfi Geli) will carry his suitcases.” Guardiola is grateful for everything Michel has done as a coach, stating, “What Michel has done leading Girona makes us forever grateful.

He could have left for a bigger club, but he wanted to stay with us. I don’t know how long he will be here, but as long as he is, we will try to provide him with talented and quality players.” The 48-year-old coach arrived at Girona in 2021 and, in 111 matches, achieved 56 wins, 22 draws, and 33 losses. He led Girona to La Liga and currently shares the top spot on the table with Real Madrid.
