Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola did not include England representative Kalvin Phillips in the team for the match against Liverpool in the League Cup.
That decision surprised the English football public, but the coach explained what the problem was after the match.
“He was not hurt. He came back overweight. I don’t know how or why. He did not return to the club in a condition where he can train and play,” said Guardiola.
The Spaniard didn’t want to talk much about Phillips, but it was clear that he was angry.
“That is a topic for a private conversation with Kalvin”, concluded the manager of “The Citizens”.
