A thrilling encounter between SK Victoria Wanderers and Xewkija Tigers ended in a 2-2 draw, as the Tigers mounted a strong second-half comeback to rescue a point at Gozo Stadium.
The Wanderers started the match brightly and took the lead in the 18th minute, with Igor Henrique Souza Da Silva finding the net to put his side ahead. The Brazilian forward doubled the advantage in the 35th minute, converting a penalty to give Victoria a comfortable 2-0 lead at halftime.
However, Xewkija Tigers responded strongly in the second half. Stefan Cassar pulled one back in the 65th minute, giving his side hope of a comeback. Just six minutes later, Brian Alejandro Parada struck the equalizer in the 71st minute, completing the Tigers’ fightback and ensuring they left with a share of the points.
The result leaves Xewkija Tigers in fourth place with 17 points, while SK Victoria Wanderers sit just behind them in fifth with 16 points.
