Giggs after Wales close to taking over the fourth-division club

Ryan Giggs stepped down as manager of the Wales national team in June, amid allegations of violence against his ex-girlfriend.

According to the English media, the famous football player could soon return to work. Namely, Giggs appears as a candidate for the bench of fourth-ranked Salford, which he co-owns together with Phil and Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and David Beckham.

Salford is in 19th place in the competition of 24 clubs. In eight rounds, he achieved two victories, one draw, and five defeats. A poor start could cost current coach Neil Wood his job. If the results do not improve, he will be replaced by Giggs.

Giggs is a football legend of Wales and Manchester United, where he spent his entire playing career and for which he made 963 appearances, 168 goals, and 259 assists. As a coach, he was United’s assistant and Wales coach from 2018 to 2022.
