Jaimee Sharp, the 28-year-old wife of Paul Gascoigne’s adopted son Mason, has been diagnosed with an aggressive and incurable brain tumour. She is also the mother of their five-year-old son, Teddy.
Jaimee has already undergone major brain surgery and is now receiving radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Doctors have diagnosed her with a grade 4 astrocytoma, a serious type of brain tumour that is expected to progress despite standard treatment.
The family has been given the opportunity for Jaimee to take part in a clinical trial in Ohio, USA. The trial involves a new drug being tested for tumours similar to hers. While the treatment is not expected to cure her cancer, Jaimee hopes it could give her more time with her young son.
The family needs to raise around £320,516 to cover the costs of the treatment and travelling between the UK and the US, as well as accommodation, insurance and other expenses. Mason has appealed to the public for donations and asked people to share the fundraising campaign.
The family has expressed their gratitude for the support they have already received, saying that it has given Jaimee hope during this difficult time.
