Fourth edition of MFCA Awards set for Thursday

The Malta Football Coaches Association (MFCA) is set to host the fourth edition of the MFCA Awards this Thursday — an evening dedicated to honouring the top football coaches and standout contributors from the 2024/25 season.

Details of the prestigious event were revealed during a press conference addressed by MFCA President Lawrence Aquilina, Vice President Manuel Micallef and Treasurer Kevin Aquilina.

This year’s ceremony promises to be bigger than ever, with the introduction of new award categories, extending recognition beyond senior football. Coaches working with Under-15, Under-17, youth, women’s, and goalkeeping teams will also be acknowledged for their outstanding contributions.

Awards will be handed out across various competitions, including the Gozo Football League, Amateur League, Challenge League, and the 360 Sports Malta Premier. A major highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the prestigious President’s Award — a special honour recognizing exceptional service to the game.

Other accolades to be presented include Team of the Year, Best Male Player, and Best Female Player, highlighting achievements on and off the pitch.

The MFCA Awards will take place at a leading hotel in Sliema, with the ceremony kicking off at 7:30 PM.
