The final match of the European Football Championship in 2024 will be played at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, and the first match of that tournament will be played in Munich, the European Football Union (UEFA) announced.
The European Championship with the participation of 24 teams will be held from June 14 to July 14, 2024 in Germany.
The matches will be played in Berlin, Hamburg, Leipzig (“North / Northeast”), Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Cologne (“West”), Munich, Frankfurt and Stuttgart (“South”).
In 2006, Germany hosted the World Cup, the final of which was held at the Olympic Stadium. The stadium was originally built for the 1936 Olympics, organized by Nazi Germany.
West Germany hosted the 1974 World Cup and the 1988 European Championships.
The draw for the qualifications for the European Championship in Germany will be held on October 9 this year in Frankfurt, and the draw for the group phase of the competition on December 2, 2023 in Hamburg.
