Fernandes on Ronaldo: The club is not ready to lose such an important figure

Portuguese football player and Manchester United player Bruno Fernandes commented on his compatriot and teammate and said that Cristiano Ronaldo will stay at the club from Old Trafford.
The media often wrote about his departure and that Ronaldo was unhappy at the club, even mentioning his departure to Bayern from Munich.

“Status of Cristiano Ronaldo? I’ll see you on Monday at the preparations. I don’t expect anything different. Everyone takes care of their future, but I don’t believe that the club is ready to lose such an important figure as Cristiano,” said Fernandes.

Bruno and Ronaldo used to play in the same club, which is Sporting from Lisbon.

“It would be great if Ronaldo returns to Sporting one day. I think everyone expects that to happen. He wants to play for many more years, we’ll see what he decides. Maybe when his contract with United expires”, added Fernandes.

Then he looked at the new coach.

“The goal is to be better than last season. A big club like United always has to win and win important trophies. We will try it in all competitions. This is a new project, we are starting from scratch, we have to give it time to flourish”, he concluded.

During the last season, he played 46 games, scored 10 goals, with 14 assists.
