Manchester United's injury list keep on growing

Club sources have confirmed that Manchester United’s new £59 million signing, Leny Yoro, will be sidelined for three months due to a foot injury sustained during their US tour. Rasmus Hojlund, another United striker, will also miss the start of the season with a hamstring issue, but is expected to return after six weeks.

Yoro, who was signed from Lille earlier this month, suffered a suspected metatarsal fracture during the friendly against Arsenal and was seen on crutches with a protective boot on his left foot. Despite being ruled out until autumn, Yoro will still accompany the team back to Manchester after their final game against Liverpool. Further assessment will be conducted by United’s medical staff to determine the extent of his injury.

The team’s injury woes continue as Marcus Rashford and Antony also had to be subbed off during their friendly against Real Betis. With Lisandro Martinez unavailable due to his participation in the Copa America, manager Erik ten Hag may have to rely on Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans in defence for their Premier League opener against Fulham.

Yoro’s injury may prompt United to make a move for another centre-back, with talks already underway with Bayern Munich for Matthijs de Ligt. The team is also interested in Jarrad Branthwaite, who can also play at left-back, an area where they struggled last season.
