Manchester City monitoring Arsenal legend for potential managerial role

Manchester City are reportedly keeping an eye on one of Arsenal’s greatest midfielders as a potential future replacement for Pep Guardiola. The Spanish manager recently signed a new two-year contract, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2027, but City’s tough season has sparked renewed speculation about his long-term future.

Guardiola’s current tenure at Manchester City has lasted nine years, his longest at any club. However, with the team sitting fourth in the Premier League, 20 points behind leaders Liverpool, there are questions about his future, particularly as City’s only remaining chance for silverware this season is the FA Cup.

Meanwhile, City are said to be monitoring Cesc Fabregas, the former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder, now managing Serie A club Como. Fabregas, who took over Como last summer, has made a strong start to his managerial career, leading the club to 13th place in Serie A. His successful start has attracted attention from several top European clubs, including Barcelona, Inter Milan, and AC Milan.

Fabregas, who had a stellar playing career, winning multiple Premier League titles, FA Cups, and La Liga titles, as well as the 2010 World Cup and European Championships with Spain, is now looking to make a mark as a manager. With his vast experience, both as a player and now as a coach, City are reportedly monitoring his progress closely.
