Leandro Trossard and wife Laura confirm separation

Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard has separated from his wife, Laura Hilven, with the split now confirmed just days after she removed photos of the couple from her social media accounts. In a post online, Hilven revealed that their relationship—spanning 13 years—has come to an end.

Trossard, a key figure in Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side, has been instrumental in the club’s push to the top of English football, where they continue to battle Manchester City for the title.

The 31-year-old recently made headlines on the pitch by scoring the decisive goal in Arsenal’s crucial London derby victory over West Ham United, helping extend their lead at the summit. Off the field, however, attention had already turned to his personal life after his partner appeared to erase all traces of him from her social media, fuelling speculation about their relationship.

Hilven had previously shared a number of photos with the former Brighton & Hove Albion forward, but he had not featured on her profile since late last year. The recent removal of images—including those from their wedding—further signalled that the relationship had come to an end.

The Instagram story said: “With deep love, care, and respect for one another, we have made the incredibly difficult decision to separate amicably.

“This was not a choice made lightly. In fact we have been separated for some time now, and during that period we have taken the space and time needed to navigate this privately and thoughtfully.

“Our decision comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire to create the healthiest and happiest future for everyone involved. Most importantly, we are and always will be devoted parents to our two beautiful children.

“We kindly ask for compassion, understanding, and privacy during this deeply personal transition. With love, Laura.”

The pair tied the knot in 2019 after the Arsenal forward got down on one knee in June 2018.

At the time of the engagement announcement, she said: “I can’t picture my life with anyone other than YOU! I SAID YES #hefinallypoppedthequestion #sohappytobeengagedtohim #soonwifey #marriedwiththemanofmydreams.”

On the pitch, Arsenal have their focus on avoiding a dramatic slip-up in the title race, as well as the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest at the end of the month.

Trossard’s goal was crucial in denying the door to swing open for Pep Guardiola’s side, after City lost ground in their dramatic 2-2 draw with Everton.
