Chelsea eyeing to bring back Tyler Dibling to Stamford Bridge

Chelsea may consider bringing back a promising young player who left the club a few years ago, after being impressed by his performances in the Premier League this season. While Enzo Maresca’s team is performing well on the pitch, the recruitment department is constantly searching for talented young players who could potentially fit into the team in the future.

It appears that they have identified their next star, with reports linking Chelsea to another transfer in January. According to CaughtOffside, the Blues are interested in re-signing Southampton’s 18-year-old winger, Tyler Dibling, who has made a strong impression in his first full season in the Premier League. Dibling, who spent ten years in Southampton’s academy, joined Chelsea in 2022 at the age of 16 with the promise of a professional contract when he turned 17.

However, he only spent a few months with the club before returning to Southampton due to difficulties settling in London. He has since put that disappointment behind him and has been thriving at St. Mary’s. Despite being part of an underwhelming Southampton side this season, Dibling has stood out as one of their top performers, catching the attention of Chelsea once again. The report also mentions that Manchester United, Tottenham, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and West Ham are monitoring the youngster.

Although Transfermarkt values him at €5m, it is expected that a bid of €25m will be necessary to convince Southampton to sell. Dibling made his first Premier League start earlier this season in a 3-0 home defeat to Manchester United, where he won a penalty with his impressive skills on the ball. In his next match, he scored his first senior goal in a 1-1 draw with Ipswich, and has since become a regular starter under Russell Martin.

He is now part of the England U21 squad and is expected to continue to grow and improve in the coming months and years. With Southampton likely to be relegated to the Championship next season, it is highly likely that Dibling will remain in the Premier League. In FourFourTwo’s opinion, Dibling fits perfectly with the type of player that Chelsea is currently looking to sign. However, it remains to be seen whether he will want to return to Stamford Bridge so soon, especially with competition for playing time from Pedro Neto, Noni Madueke, Jadon Sancho, and Mykhalo Mudryk.
