Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that centre-back Gabriel Magalhães could miss next week’s Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid after suffering a hamstring injury during their 2-1 victory over Fulham. The Brazilian defender limped off early in the match, adding to Arsenal’s growing list of injuries.

Dutch fullback Jurrien Timber also had to be substituted after feeling discomfort in his knee, further compounding Arteta’s defensive woes. With Riccardo Calafiori and Ben White already sidelined, Arsenal now have four defensive injuries in the span of a week.

Arteta acknowledged the severity of the situation, stating, “Gabby felt something in his hamstring, we don’t know how big that is. Jurrien was struggling early, but at some point, he couldn’t continue.”
In addition to defensive concerns, Arsenal will also be without Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel Jesus, all ruled out for the season with long-term injuries.

The Gunners face Everton this Saturday before their crucial Champions League showdown against Real Madrid on April 8, a match that could define their season.
