Chelsea interim manager Frank Lampard said today that Reece James and Mason Mount are likely to miss the rest of the season.
The Chelsea players welcome the Brentford team today in the match of the 33rd round of the Premier League.
Reece James is not ready for this game, and probably not for the rest of the season. He suffered a hamstring injury in the match in Madrid. He lasted on the field until the end, but after the scan, we saw that the injury is quite serious and he will not be ready for the rest of the season,’ said Lamaprd.
The team from London has experienced four defeats in as many matches since the arrival of Lampard. Chelsea is in 11th place in the Premier League with only 39 points won.
Lampard said that Havertz is still struggling with a knee injury, but that he is expected to return to training early Sunday, while Mason Mount is certain to miss the end of the season.
“Unfortunately, the situation with Mason is the same as with Reece. Maybe he could come back for the last game of the season, but it’s not certain,’ Lampard added.
