Arsenal defender Calum Chambers has joined Aston Villa as an official winter reinforcement, the club announced on social media.
Chambers signed a contract for three and a half years, and the financial details are not known.
Calum grew up at the Southampton Academy, from which he came to Arsenal in 2014. During his eight-year period at Arsenal, he also went on loan to Middlesbrough and Fulham.
“Aston Villa is a great club that is going through a great period. It is very exciting to be here, I feel a positive atmosphere both in the club and around it. It seems to me that everything is going in the right direction, and at no time did I hesitate when I received the offer. I am sure I made the right decision “- said Chambers for the club’s website.
Calum has played 122 games for Arsenal, and will be the third big reinforcement for Steven Gerrard this winter after Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Digne.
