Gianluigi Buffon is one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time. He was a World Cup champion with Italy, a multiple-time Serie A champion with Juventus, and played for Parma and the French PSG. Buffon has had an exceptional sports career, but he admitted to feeling ashamed of one of his actions from his youth.
At the age of 18, the famous Italian goalkeeper was already a star in Serie A. He didn’t have time to focus on school, so he paid to obtain a diploma.
“I made many mistakes when I was young. What I am most ashamed of is buying a high school diploma. I would never do that again because it’s dishonorable. I don’t want to achieve success through shortcuts. However, I’m not perfect, and I think that’s why I’m close to people,” said the legendary goalkeeper of the Azzurri.
Bufon retired last year at the age of 45 but quickly found a new job in football. He became the head of the Italian national team delegation.
