Milan Borjan defends for the Canadian national team at the Gold Cup, and yesterday’s captain of Red Star had to withdraw from the competition.
As officially announced by the Football Association of Canada, Milan suffered an injury that forced him to continue his recovery in Europe.
The announcement does not state what kind of injury it is, nor its severity, and therefore it is not known how long he will be absent from the field.
Borjan will spend the next season on loan at Slovan Bratislava, after the new coach of the red and white team Barak Bahar crossed him out.
Without him, Canada will play the decisive match in Group D of the Gold Cup against Cuba, and before the end of the round they are third in the table, after a draw with Guadeloupe and a victory over Guatemala.
