The seventh edition of the Malta Beach Soccer Championship is set to get underway this week at Pretty Bay in Birżebbuġa, with organisers expecting another highly competitive tournament following a strong response from participating clubs.
The championship will once again feature both men’s and women’s competitions, with seven teams competing for the men’s title and five teams battling for women’s honours throughout June.

The men’s competition will feature Spartans Selection, Hamrun SC, Sliema, La Playa De Arena, Phoenix FC, W/A Agency, and Costa Viola. Meanwhile, the women’s championship will see Skill and Passion, Birkirkara FC, Sliema, Parr Mela Rockets, and Ballun FC competing for the national crown.

Action begins on Monday with three men’s fixtures scheduled at Pretty Bay. Hamrun SC will face Costa Viola at 6.00 pm before Sliema takes on Spartans Selection at 7.15 pm. The opening day concludes with the W/A Agency meeting Phoenix FC at 8.30 pm.
The women’s competition gets underway on Tuesday when Birkirkara FC face Skill and Passion at 6.00 pm, followed by Parr Mela Rockets against Ballun FC at 7.15 pm.

Men’s matches will take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, whilst the women’s fixtures will be contested every Tuesday and Thursday. The championship will culminate in a Final Four stage, where the top teams will compete for places in the final and ultimately the national title.
Malta Beach Soccer Association president Mauro Camilleri Darmanin expressed his satisfaction with the level of participation in this year’s competition, noting that the number of teams entering reflects the growing popularity of beach soccer across Malta.
Camilleri Darmanin said he expects a championship of a very high standard, with competitive encounters and entertaining matches for supporters attending Pretty Bay throughout June.
With several established teams and emerging contenders set to compete, another exciting edition of the Malta Beach Soccer Championship appears to be in store as the country’s best beach soccer players prepare to battle for national honours.
