Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta gave his comment on the London club’s new signing, Leandro Trossard, who came from Brighton.
The Belgian representative is 28 years old and for many his transfer was a surprise, knowing that the Gunners have a practice of bringing in young footballers.
However, Arsenal’s manager says that the 28-year-old is not old.
“His age is not a problem. The club can afford a 28-year-old player with experience, versatility and real quality,” said Mikel Arteta and added:
“It’s not like we had to bring in a 20, 21 or 22-year-old player every time for the next five years. That is not our plan”.
Leandro Trossard played 16 games for Brighton this season and scored seven goals.
Arsenal is first in the Premier League standings, and two big derbies await them in the next two matches, against Manchester United on Sunday and Manchester City on Friday, January 27.
