The American investment firm “777” is in advanced negotiations with the owners of Everton regarding the takeover of the club, reports the British Telegraph.
The same source says that the latest bid made by the American company will put an end to Farhad Moshiri’s era at the English giants – news that will delight fans at Goodison Park.
The blue side of Merseyside have been protesting for years and demanding the resignation of Ferhad Moshiri, who has overseen Caramel’s slow but sure decline in recent years. The “Blues” barely managed to survive in the league last season, and started this season with three losses and one draw.
The main investor of the club was Alisher Usmanov, an oligarch born in Uzbekistan, who was sanctioned by the British government after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Talks between 777 and Moshiri have been going on for months, but negotiations accelerated after MSP Capital, another American firm, backed out of investing in a smaller part of the club.
A final deal could be reached this week and would see Everton become the 10th Premier League club to be owned by an American company.
777 are from 2015. founded by Josh Vander and Steve Pascoe in Miami, under their ownership are the Italian club Genoa, the Brazilian Vasco de Gama, the Australian Melbourne Victory, the Belgian Standard Liège, the French club Crvena Zvezda, Hertha Berlin and a small part of Sevilla.
