AC Milan are reportedly monitoring the situation of Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden as the Italian club explores options to strengthen its squad ahead of next season.
According to reports, Foden has emerged as a potential target for the Rossoneri, although any move remains at an early stage and is currently dependent on the future of Rafael Leão.
The Portuguese winger continues to attract interest from several clubs, including Atlético Madrid and Galatasaray. While no formal contacts have yet been made with Foden or his representatives, Milan are said to be ready to consider a move should Leão leave San Siro.
The English international is currently viewed as an ambitious option rather than an immediate transfer target, but the situation could develop in the coming weeks.
Manchester City’s new head coach Enzo Maresca could also play a role in Foden’s future. Reports suggest the Italian manager is keen to strengthen his squad with the signing of Enzo Fernández, a move that could further limit Foden’s playing opportunities at the Etihad Stadium.
Foden is reportedly valued at around €60 million, a figure Milan are believed to be assessing should funds become available through Leão’s departure.
The 26-year-old earns approximately €7 million per season, only slightly more than Leão’s current salary at Milan, meaning his wages are not considered a major obstacle.
Although Foden missed this summer’s FIFA World Cup, Milan are continuing to monitor his situation closely as they evaluate potential reinforcements for the new campaign.
