Marsaxlokk secured their fourth win of the season with a 2-1 victory over struggling Balzan. This win keeps Marsaxlokk just 2 points behind bottom six leaders Gzira who earlier won against Zabbar.
The Southsiders took the lead early, with Tristan Caruana scoring an own goal just 3 minutes into the match. However, Caruana redeemed himself 20 minutes later, scoring the equalizer for Balzan.
The second half was evenly contested, but Marsaxlokk regained the lead in the 72nd minute through a well-placed finish by Yuri Messias.
Balzan finished the match with 10 men after Nigerian forward Awosanya Dimeji was sent off for a second yellow card, and the game ended 2-1 in favor of Enzo Potenza’s side.
