Birkirkara secured a slim but valuable 1-0 win against Naxxar to stay atop the league table with 28 points.
The first half showed no dangerous attaks from both sides an so ended in a goalless draw.
In the second half, Naxxar created two good chances. First, in the 61st minute, Nikolai Micallef’s shot went wide, while in the 68th minute, they were unlucky to hit the post after Nikolai Micallef’s header.
Naxxar’s goalkeeper Matthias Debono did well in the 80th minute when he punched Maxuell Maia’s powerful shot for a corner.
Birkirkara scored the winning goal in the 86th minute when Maxuell Maia beat Matthias Debono from close range.
