Floriana FC announce squad changes for January transfer window

With the January transfer window just days away, Floriana FC have confirmed significant squad updates, including the departure of Spanish goalkeeper Saúl Gracia.

Gracia, 24, joined Floriana at the start of the season but struggled to adapt to Maltese football. The club and the player mutually agreed to terminate his contract.

Another player leaving the club is Brazilian defender Fernandinho. The 31-year-old, who signed at the beginning of the campaign, made 14 appearances for Floriana but is no longer part of their plans.

Meanwhile, Floriana are set to strengthen their squad with the signing of 25-year-old Argentine player Gonzalo Gamarra. Sources indicate that Gamarra has already trained with the team and was present during Floriana’s crucial win over Birkirkara last weekend—a victory that secured their position at the top of the league after the first phase of the season.

These changes underline Floriana’s ambitions as they look to maintain their strong form and compete for the league title.
