On Monday night, during the final two matches of Matchday 5 of the 360 Sports Malta Premier, Birkirkara and Mosta secured full points by defeating Melita and Marsaxlokk respectively.
Melita 0-3 Birkirkara
Maxuell Maia propelled Birkirkara to a commanding victory over Melita, reclaiming the leading position in the 360 Sports Malta Premier League at the Tony Bezzina Stadium.
The Brazilian striker opened the scoring by converting a penalty after Lauturo Lacunza was fouled by Marc Van De Font Bovenkamp. Birkirkara swiftly doubled their advantage when Ignacio Morello seized a well-placed pass after a remarkable run from Agustin Sandona.
Maia netted his second of the match from another penalty, bringing his season tally to seven goals.

Marsaxlokk 2-4 Mosta
Mosta secured their second successive victory after triumphing over champions Hamrun last week, whereas Marsaxlokk continue to struggle, remaining the only team without points after five defeats.
Just eight minutes into the game, Mosta took the lead thanks to a free-kick taken by Clayton Failla. The ball deflected off the Marsaxlokk wall and landed at the feet of Joshua Agyemang, who promptly fired it into the net.
Marsaxlokk equalised when Alex Gomes De Aguiar powered a personal effort past Akpan with a strong shot.
Two minutes before half-time, Marsaxlokk went ahead as Bonnici played the ball to Jai Quitongo on the left, who advanced and scored with a fine strike past Akpan.
A 52nd-minute long-range shot by Clayton Failla narrowly missed the Marsaxlokk goal, but just a minute later, Mosta equalised with a stunning strike from the edge of the box by Afriyie Prince. Mosta went ahead in the 82nd minute when Zachary Brincat’s left-wing run and cross were finished from close range by substitute Richard Luca Rosa Da Silva.
Mosta secured their victory in the 90th minute when Raden fouled Rosa Da Silva, and from the penalty spot, Clayton Failla beat Drobnjak.
