Norway continued their strong start in World Cup qualifying by beating Italy 3-0 at home, their third win in a row in Group C. This result also means Italy haven’t won in four matches.
Norway took the lead early, as Antonio Nusa ran from his own half and passed to Alexander Sørloth, who calmly finished past Donnarumma. Italy couldn’t respond and struggled in the heavy rain. Their only real chance in the first half was a shot by Giacomo Raspadori that went over the bar.
Donnarumma stopped Sørloth from scoring again, but soon after, Nusa made it 2-0 with a great goal into the top of the net. Just before half-time, Martin Ødegaard set up Erling Haaland, who rounded the keeper and scored his 41st international goal to make it 3-0.

Italy hadn’t let in an away goal in World Cup qualifying since 2017, but Norway were too strong. Although Italy improved slightly in the second half, they didn’t have a shot on target until the final minutes, when Lorenzo Lucca’s header was easily saved.
Norway have now won five games in a row, scoring 21 goals and conceding just 3. It’s also only the second time this century they’ve won three World Cup qualifiers in a row.
