War delays Taremi’s Inter debut as striker remains stranded in Iran

The ongoing crisis in the Middle East is now affecting the world of football. Mehdi Taremi, Inter’s new striker, is currently unable to leave Iran due to the closure of the country’s airspace, a direct result of recent Israeli airstrikes. This situation now seriously jeopardizes his participation in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, set to take place in the United States.

Taremi was expected to join his teammates in Los Angeles, where the squad, under the guidance of Cristian Chivu, is preparing for its debut in the global competition. However, escalating conflict between Israel and Iran has made it logistically impossible for the player to travel, at least for the time being.

Sources close to the Nerazzurri report that the club is in constant contact with Taremi and is exploring every possible solution to get him out of the country. Nevertheless, the current climate makes any travel plan extremely difficult. With the conflict intensifying and military operations ramping up, a quick resolution seems unlikely.

The situation remains fluid, but at this stage there are no clear signs of a breakthrough. Taremi’s absence would be a major blow for Inter, who are counting on the experience and quality of the former Porto forward.
