On the second day of the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Skopje, Macedonia, Maltese badminton player Jeremy Gatt took on Deeptanshu Toka of Norway. Gatt started well, winning the first set 21-17.
The second set was tighter, with Toka taking an early lead, but Gatt fought back strongly to win it 21-16 and take the match in straight sets.
Later in the day, Gatt faced Zisis Pegios from Greece. He gave a good effort and played some long rallies, but Pegios proved too strong and won in straight sets, both ending 21-14.
With these results, Gatt finished third out of five in Group Stage 3 and just missed out on moving to the next round.
