Inter Milan completed a historic domestic double after defeating Lazio 2-0 in the Coppa Italia final at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, sealing their 10th triumph in the competition’s history.
Having already secured the Serie A title earlier this season, Inter added the Coppa Italia to crown a remarkable campaign under coach Cristian Chivu, who celebrated a sensational league and cup double in his first full season in charge of the Nerazzurri.
Only Juventus, with 15 titles, have won the Coppa Italia more times than Inter, whose night in Rome was shaped by Lazio’s costly defensive mistakes and the relentless intensity shown by Chivu’s side.

Inter controlled proceedings after the interval, although Lazio attempted to react midway through the second half. Tijjani Noslin came closest for the Biancocelesti in the 58th minute when his low right-footed effort narrowly drifted wide of Josep Martínez’s post.
The Spanish goalkeeper then produced one of the key moments of the second half in the 75th minute, bravely blocking Boulaye Dia’s effort with his face to preserve Inter’s clean sheet. Moments earlier, Luis Henrique had squandered a golden opportunity to add a third for the Nerazzurri after a dangerous counterattack.
Tensions boiled over late in the match following a heavy challenge by Pedro on Dimarco, sparking a heated confrontation involving players from both sides as frustration grew inside the Olimpico.
However, the final whistle ultimately confirmed Inter’s dominance and another memorable chapter in the club’s history. Sixteen years after lifting the historic treble as an Inter player under José Mourinho, Chivu has now guided the Nerazzurri to domestic glory from the touchline, delivering one of the most impressive seasons in recent club history.
