Team Noel Fight & Fitness have done Malta proud once again on the international stage, after claiming first place overall at the XFC European Championship in Rome last week, finishing top of all participating European countries.
“What an honour,” said team leader Noel Mercieca, as his squad put in a remarkable collective performance, winning 13 European Championship belts and producing nine medallists across both K1 and boxing.
Throughout the competition, the Maltese fighters showed determination, discipline and a true fighting spirit, carrying the Maltese flag with pride. Their performances were a testament to the hard work, skill and dedication put in by the entire squad in the build-up to the event.
Master Noel Mercieca paid tribute to the commitment and team spirit on display throughout the championship, calling the result “a proud moment for Malta and for the whole team.”
Special praise was reserved for Terence Cilia, who was singled out for his professional coaching and leadership over the course of the tournament. Recognition was also given to Mariana Joesam Azzopardi and Redent R. G. Galea for their hard work and valuable contributions throughout the event.
The achievement marks another important milestone for Maltese combat sports and is a further sign of the growing success of local athletes on the world stage.
