Marie-Louise Eta made history on Sunday as she became the first female head coach to win a Bundesliga match, guiding Union Berlin to a 3-1 victory over Mainz 05.
Eta took over as interim manager in April after Steffen Baumgart was sacked, and her appointment was sadly met with a wave of derogatory comments on social media. Her first two games in charge ended in defeat, but Union picked up a point against Cologne earlier this month before finally claiming all three points at the fourth attempt.
A clearly delighted Eta told broadcaster DAZN after the match that the win was the result of hard work and dedication from everyone at the club.

Union Berlin have one game remaining this season, away at Augsburg on Saturday, before Eta moves on to take charge of the women’s team next season.
