Santa Margherita Bormla have secured promotion to the Second Division of the National Boċċi Championship in their debut season following a one-year absence from local competition.
The Cospicua-based side confirmed promotion in emphatic fashion with a commanding 21-0 victory over Fgura and will now turn their attention to completing the campaign by claiming the Third Division title.

Santa Margherita currently enjoy a two-point lead over nearest challengers Kirkop, who remain the only side with a realistic chance of denying them the championship.
Elsewhere in the Third Division, Kirkop strengthened their title credentials with a convincing 21-2 win over Paola Wolves, while Qrendi edged past Marsaskala in a closely contested encounter, prevailing 21-19.
In the Second Division, Isla produced one of the standout results of the round with a 21-8 triumph over leaders Żabbar. Marsamxett also impressed, defeating Birżebbuġa 21-7 to draw level on points at the summit. Floriana narrowly overcame Qormi San Ġorġ 21-19, Birgu recorded a comfortable 21-7 victory over Mosta, while Santa Luċija secured a hard-fought 21-19 success against Thalassalejn.
