Buġibba Bocci Club won it-Tazza tal-Anġlu, organised by the FK Boċċi, after beating St Peter’s Żabbar 21-8 in the final held at the Qormi San Bastjan pitch.
The match lasted just one hour and 17 minutes and showed excellent accuracy from Buġibba, who scored heavily after the early rounds.
St Peter’s Żabbar started strongly with a 6-0 lead, but Buġibba quickly fought back and finished the first half 12-6 in front. From then on, the team, Adrian Bonanno, Godfrey Sciberras, Jurgen Zammit, Laumar Abela, Stephen Zammit and John Borg, kept up their strong play. Although Żabbar tried to close the gap, they could not match Buġibba’s consistency.
St Peter’s Żabbar were represented by Charles Galea, Conrad Borg, Emm Brignone, Marc Vella Bonnici, Owen Bezzina and Vince Galea.
After the match, Federation president CJ Saliba presented the trophy to Buġibba captain John Borg.
