Three Maltese players have secured places in Malta’s national teams in their respective categories after winning the finals of tournaments organised by the Malta Blackball Pool Association.
The competitions were part of the third men’s ranking tournament in the qualification process for this year’s Blackball World Cup, which will be held in London, England. The points earned throughout these tournaments are important in deciding which players will represent Malta at the prestigious event.
In the Men’s category, Clayton Castaldi won the final after beating Gilmoure Scicluna 10-5. On his way to the final, Castaldi defeated Antoine Schembri in the semi-finals, while Scicluna beat Gary Carr.
In the Coop Services Under-23 Tournament, Casdy Vella came out on top after defeating Steven Muscat 10-7 in the final. Vella reached the final by beating Nordai Desira, while Muscat secured his place with a win over Mikhail Mansueto.
In the Coop Services Under-18 Tournament, Dielyn Edwards claimed victory after beating Nick Muscat 8-6 in a closely fought final. Edwards defeated Shazen Ciantar in the semi-finals, while Muscat reached the final after overcoming Ayken Gambin.

With these results, Clayton Castaldi, Casdy Vella and Dielyn Edwards have secured places in Malta’s national squads in their respective categories as preparations continue for future international competitions.
