The Malta Blackball Pool Federation staged the second qualifying event of its ranking series at the Juventus Club Vero Amore in Birkirkara, as players continued their battle for places at this year’s WPA World Championships in London.
The tournament forms part of a five-event ranking circuit that will determine Malta’s national team selection for the prestigious international competition.
In the Men’s final, Mevrick Zammit edged past Miguel Amato in a closely contested match, securing the title with a dramatic 10-9 victory.
Matthias Debono was crowned Under-23 champion after overcoming Steven Muscat 10-5 in the final.
The Under-18 title went to Denzel Falzon, who defeated Nick Muscat 8-4 to complete a successful tournament.
Attention will now turn to the third qualifying event, which the Malta Blackball Pool Federation will organise in the coming days as the race for places in Malta’s national team continues.
