The national men’s team of Malta had a mixed outcomes on the fourth day of the Blackball world championships, which are currently taking place in Malta. Led by Clevion Micallef, the team faced defeats in their first two games, scoring 14-11 against Scotland and 11-4 against Northern Ireland. However, they managed to turn it around with a close 8-7 victory against Australia.
The women’s team, consisting of Roberta Cutajar, Donna Bugeja, Lorna Micallef, Alexia Cassano, Ana Thomas, and Amanda Mifsud, celebrated a satisfying win of 15-10 against Gibraltar.
The Seniors team also emerged victorious against Scotland with a tight score of 13-12. As for the more experienced teams, the Masters faced a loss of 15-10 against Scotland, while the Grandmasters over 60s lost to Scotland with a score of 14-11. However, they redeemed themselves with a remarkable win against Belgium with a score of 21-4.
In other results, the under 23 team was defeated by Scotland 16-9, despite their victory against Catalonia with a score of 17-8. Similarly, the under 18 team faced a loss of 17-8 against England but managed to secure a win against Northern Ireland with a score of 13-12. Finally, the under-15 team faced a defeat against Northern Ireland with a score of 11-4 but bounced back with a close win of 8-7 against Australia.
