Cospicua Rangers A and Hamrun 147 A share the Spoils in thrilling 10-10 draw

Cospicua Rangers A and Hamrun 147 A played out an entertaining 10-10 draw in the National Blackball Championship, with neither side able to grab a winner in a closely fought contest. The lead changed hands several times throughout the match, but ultimately both teams had to settle for a point apiece.

The result comes as the business end of all championships gets under way this week, with the title race in each division set to reach its conclusion.

Regional Championship

In Section A, Żebbuġ St Joseph A, San Ġwann Tiki Taka Boys and Hamrun 147 C all picked up convincing 11-0 wins against Domus Kids Żejtun A, Valletta Fossa Boys and Qormi Pinto B respectively.

In Section B, league leaders Hamrun 147 B kept their winning run going with an 11-4 victory over Birkirkara Youngsters, while second-placed San Ġwann Tiki Taka Spartans eased past PL Balzan B 11-0. Elsewhere in the section, Selmun Sports Club A beat Siġġiewi Montekristo A 11-5.

Community League

In Section A, leaders PL Floriana were made to work hard before eventually seeing off Żebbuġ St Joseph B 11-9. Second-placed Cospicua Rangers B put some daylight between themselves and the chasing pack with a comfortable 11-2 win over Mrieħel Billiard House B. Birkirkara Juve edged out Selmun Sports Club C 11-9, while Birżebbuġa St Peter’s B and Siġġiewi Montekristo C cancelled each other out in a 10-10 draw.

In Section B, table-toppers Hamrun 147 D and Birkirkara Boċċi both recorded 11-0 victories against Qormi Anici and Birżebbuġa St Peter’s A respectively. San Ġwann Tiki Taka Buddies claimed three valuable points with an 11-2 win over Siġġiewi Montekristo B, while PL Balzan and Selmun Sports Club B shared the spoils in a 10-10 draw.
