Ħamrun SC sit atop the national Beach Soccer Championship standings after securing victories in two key matches. Under coach Joel Winters, the team defeated Sliema Beach Soccer 6-3, with Nezar Abouaisha scoring twice and additional goals from Lee Joe Schembri, Faisal Alnakua, Antonello Demanuele, and Chris Baker.
Nigel Spiteri scored a brace for the Blues with Brandon Bray adding another one.
In their second outing, Ħamrun edged out last season’s finalists La Playa de Arena 6-4. Chris Baker and Nezar Abouaisha again stood out with braces, while Faisal Alnakua and Kyle Bartolo also contributed goals. Despite a double from La Playa goalkeeper Jonathan Grech, Ħamrun maintained their momentum and now advance to the second round aiming to defend their title.
