Ħamrun SC brought their Euro Winners Cup journey in Nazaré to an end with a 9-0 loss against Belarusian side TSOR.
TSOR took an early lead in unfortunate fashion for Ħamrun, as a shot by Shavlikov struck the post and deflected off goalkeeper Ryan Caruana’s back into the net for an own goal.
The second goal was a moment of brilliance from Kononenko, who beat Caruana with a stunning overhead kick following a cross from the left.
In the second period, TSOR extended their lead through a penalty converted by Suslov, followed shortly by a goal from Torres, who had just entered the match. Before the end of the second period, Gordetski and Shavlikov added two more to make it 6-0.
The third period saw TSOR maintain their dominance, with Gordetski completing his hat-trick after scoring twice more. Goalkeeper Avgustov capped off the scoring to seal the 9-0 final result.
Match officials were Rick Rodrigo, Jose Carrico, and Alicia Galan Cayado.
This was Ħamrun’s third and final match in the competition, following identical 7-3 defeats to Bavaria Bazis and Copenhagen BSC.
