Spanish basketball player Marc Gasol has a great career behind him, and now he is thinking about retiring, which he revealed at the last conference.
Gasol returned to Spain in 2021, and after a long NBA career, he strengthened Girona. In a statement for the club’s website, he spoke about a possible retirement.
“What I know for sure is that I will not start the season. Coming to Girona cost me much more than I expected when I made that decision, it’s complicated. I think it’s a smart decision to skip the start, we’ll see later.” Marc said.
Gasol played the end of the previous season with an injury.
“It was irresponsible on my part, but I felt that the team needed me and we managed to ensure survival. Now is a different time and it is time for other decisions. You have to accept reality and think about the future.” revealed Gasol, and then added:
“I apologize to the people who are waiting for my decision, it is not easy to understand. It should be much clearer, but whether or not to end my career is something I constantly think about.”
During his career, he played for Barcelona, Memphis, Toronto and LA Lakers.
