Malta’s Under-18 women have been crowned FIBA U18 Women’s EuroBasket Division C champions after defeating Cyprus 56-35 in Sunday’s final in Peja, Kosovo.
Malta established control early, leading 9-3 after the opening quarter before extending the advantage to 24-5 by half-time. Cyprus responded with 20 points in the third period, but Malta remained composed and closed out a convincing victory.
Samira Deguara led Malta with 15 points as the national selection completed an impressive tournament by reclaiming the Division C title won in 2023.
The triumph followed a dramatic 49-48 semi-final win over hosts Kosovo and completed a historic clean sweep for Malta across all three female national-team categories this summer.
