The Denver Nuggets, led by the excellent Nikola Jokic, defeated the team from the capital, the Washington Wizards, away with a score of 104:118.
The Wizards had the strength to match the leaders of the Western Conference during the first half, but Jokic and the team were dominant from the middle to the end of the third quarter, where they reached a +21 point advantage before the last 12 minutes of basketball in the ‘Capital 1 Arena’.
At the start of the fourth period, free throws by Bruce Brown gave the visitors a maximum lead of 23 points. By the end of the game, there was an expected relaxation, due to the high lead, which the home team used to alleviate the defeat and set the final score of 104:118.
Porzingis was the most effective in his team’s defeat with 25 points. Avdija added 16 points, eight rebounds and six assists, and only Goodwin with 12 points was in double figures.
Nikola Jokic recorded a double-double in the victory of the Nuggets, he had 31 points and 12 rebounds, along with seven assists. Michael Porter Jr. added 21 points, and Murray had 17 points, eight assists and seven rebounds.
The Nuggets are first in the West with a score of 49-24, while the Wizards are in 12th place in the East with a score of 32-41.
