Director of the USA selection, Grant Hill, assures that things in basketball are not the same as they were 30 years ago when he played.
After the defeat of the USA against Lithuania at the Mundobasket, selection director Grant Hill spoke for the journalists.
“There is no more fear when playing against NBA players. They used to be afraid of Charles Barkley or Karl Malone, but that’s not the case today. There is respect, but there is no more fear, as it was 27 years ago.” he said.
This defeat was painless for the Americans when it came to the passage to the quarterfinals, which was secured a round earlier. They will meet Italy in the quarter-finals, while Lithuania will compete against Serbia.
